In 2024, Bangladesh only issues e-passports, replacing the old Machine Readable Passports (MRP). As the first country in Asia to introduce e-passports, Bangladesh allows applicants to complete the process online with a valid National ID card (NID) or birth certificate.

1. Required Documents for Children’s Passport
- Child’s online birth registration certificate
- Photocopy of parents’ NID cards

Note: For applicants under 20, parents’ documents are mandatory since they do not have NID cards.
